Golfers tell us that Talamore Golf Course is a must-play destination on any Pinehurst golf trip. Rees Jones' design offers a unique and challenging golf experience, with over 150 ft. of elevation change, lakes, wetlands, and massive bunkers. The course requires players to think strategically and exhibit control rather than relying solely on brute strength. The recent changes to the green complexes have restored them to their original dimensions, providing a truer roll and increased speed. Talamore is also known for its sod wall bunkers, which are not only visually striking but also easier to maintain. Despite some minor issues with pace of play and bunker renovations, golfers appreciate the friendly and excellent staff, as well as the overall value for the money. The course conditions are consistently good, even during winter months, making Talamore an excellent choice for golf year-round.

Good to know

Golfers tell us that the range balls offered at Talamore Golf Club were of poor quality, dirty, and hard, making it difficult for them to warm up and get into the swing of the game. Additionally, some players found the front nine of the course to be mediocre, while the back nine was much nicer. The dreadfully slow greens negatively impacted the game for some golfers, and the stacked-up tee times led to slow play lasting for four or more hours, causing some players to finish their round in the dark. Lastly, although the course itself was in good condition, many of the bunkers were being redone, resulting in some of them lacking sand and containing only gravel. These aspects need improvement at Talamore Golf Club.
